Introduction
My introduction to Show Guppies was at the age of 12 years old. When walking past the local pet store on my way home from school the proprietor who was wiring in some electrical equipment powering heaters and thermostats, I noticed he was about to make a wiring error. That day I had been taught a lesson on electricity supply in school. I explained to the pet store owner that his method would cause him a problem when he turns on the supply, he then asked me to do the wiring for him. Health and safety was not his strongest point. To my complete surprise all of the electrical products worked perfectly. I was immediately offered a Saturday job and took up his offer. Very soon I had the Aquarist bug and by the time I was 15 years old I was line breeding guppies from the USA. There was very little interest in the UK in the 70's, other than from a life long friend and FBAS judge Mr Leo Collins (Deceased). I always had it in mind that one day I would return to attempt the intricate world of breeding these delicate jewels to show standard. I have been keeping tropical aquariums for 40 years now very much restricted due to my work commitments and returned to my passion to breed Guppies again in 2005 with the help of some present day UK livebearer members Derrick Clayton and Derrick Jordan, I found my way back to the Guppy scene.
